15 Interesting Romantic Getaways In Texas – Must Visit

Romantic Getaways In Texas

While all of us are very different from each other, I personally feel that there are some things that we all look forward to. This includes getting graduated, getting your first job, and buying a house, among many more.

Another such thing that I feel we all look forward to is going on trips. There are many different types of trips we all might prefer. Some may prefer a fun trip with their friends, while some may prefer to go along with their family. Some may even prefer going on romantic getaways in Texas or other parts of the world.

Personally, I feel like there is another type of trip that we all look forward to. That trip is none other than a romantic getaway with our partner. Say what you will, but nothing beats an amazing getaway, including just you and your partner.

I agree that most of us would prefer to go to popular destinations like Paris, Milan, Barcelona and so many more, it is however not always possible. While these destinations may be amazing, it is however not always possible to afford them.

However, I understand that it may be a little dejecting to not being able to visit these destinations. But personally, I feel like it is not necessary to limit yourself to these extravagant destinations to enjoy a romantic getaway.

There are many unexpected hidden destinations that are also easy on our pockets. In this blog, I will cover some of these destinations. To be specific, I am going to cover all the hidden spots you can go to for a getaway with your partner in the Texas region

So, without further ado, let’s dive in a look at these amazing destinations.

Galveston

Watching the sunset together is one of the most romantic things that I can think of. Well, luckily, my first recommendation will take care of that. Galveston is the perfect seaside getaway that I can personally think of.

Not only can you enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise, but for the adrenaline junkies, I have you covered for that as well. Galveston is home to one of the largest water parks in the world. So for all of you looking for a beachy getaway, I recommend Galveston.

Granbury

My next recommendation is for couples looking for a slightly secluded getaway. Granbury is one of the least populated areas in Texas. This, in my opinion, makes it a perfect destination for couples looking to wind down in peace.

Not to mention the many B&Bs on water that you can stay in. I honestly think that staying in these B&Bs would give you a taste of life in Venice.

Another amazing thing that Granbury has in store for you is its many shops to go to for antiquing at Historic Granbury Square, which makes Granbury one of the most interesting romantic getaways in Texas.

Fort Worth

For all of you looking to have a proper Texas experience, Fort Worth is the way to go. Here, you will get to experience the classic nights involving Cowboy bars filled with mechanical bulls and great drinks.

Big Bend National Park

Let’s be honest; we all have made the mistake of assuming Texas is a hot desert. To my surprise, while doing research for this blog, I came across the Big Bend National Park in Texas. This destination is perfect for couples looking to connect with nature on their romantic getaways in Texas.

Going on a hike with your partner and gazing at the beautiful stars to end the night sounds like a perfect day to spend with your partner.

Grapevine

I understand that going on museum tours is not everyone’s cup of tea. In any case, if that’s what you and your partner are looking for in your next romantic getaway, Texas has that as well. Grapevine is a great suburban area that’ll take care of all your needs.

In addition to many art galleries, Grapevine also has a lake where you can enjoy a boat ride or a picnic. Then there’s Wine Fusion Winery as well, where you can enjoy wine tasting as a couple.

Bandera

Texas is associated with Cowboys, and rightly so, as the ‘’Cowboy Capital’’ is in Texas only. I am obviously talking about one of my next recommended romantic getaways in Texas, Bandera. While it may not be for everyone, I would highly suggest making Bandera your next romantic getaway.

At Bandera, you’ll get to experience the authentic ”Texan Experience” as it’s full of ranches where you can get the whole cowboy experience. For an even more adventurous trip, you can also go for a hike in nature at the Lost Maples State Park.

For all of you looking to experience the music, Bandera has plenty of Country music bars as well.

Port Aransas

My next recommended destination is a little different from the rest. Port Aransas is generally more accepted as a family vacation destination, but there are many ways for just you and your partner to enjoy it as well.

The best thing about Port Aransas is that it’s surrounded by nature reserves, so you can truly enjoy nature with your partner. You two may even spot some alligators together. There’s also the option of going on a cruise and enjoying the sunset together.

To end the night on a perfect note are several of Port Arnasas’s candle-lit restaurants for the perfect romantic date.

South Padre Island

The next destination would be the best choice for couples who like to party. South Padre Island is full of fun activities both on and offshore. Unlike my many previous destinations, here in South Padre Island, you can have a beer tasting

There are also many bars and clubs where you can live up your nights together and dance like there’s no tomorrow. While this may seem to be a young man’s game, South Padre Island has you covered. You just want to have a nice romantic dinner with your significant other.

There are plenty of steak houses that will cater to your meaty needs, and a sunset walk with your partner after a delicious meal is never a bad idea.

Dripping Springs

Being on all the romantic getaways in Texas with your partner is amazing as it is, but imagine how much better it would be to even have a serene view as well. In that case, the best recommendation I have for you is to visit Dripping Springs.

Just picture yourself and your partner looking and admiring the natural 50 feet waterfall. I’m sure just thinking about it puts a smile on your face. Not only does Dripping Springs have an amazing waterfall, but there are plenty of orchards from Texas Hill County Olive Company.

Wimberly

My next recommendation is going to be all our adrenaline junkies’ favorite. Wemberly is full of water adventure sports. In fact, they have a zipline of more than 900 feet long and more than 100 meters high. With this, you can rest assured of having plenty of adventures with your partner.

Wimberly is also home to Jacob’s Well. To those who don’t know, Jacob’s Well has one of the largest submerged caves to explore. You can also enjoy adventurous sports like a cliff- diving as well.

For couples who put an emphasis on eating organically grown food, be sure to try out the Leaning Pear.

Austin

All the recommendations that I have provided till now are mainly underrated destinations. With my current entry, we will get into the territory of more commercially known places. My first recommendation has to be Austin.

Austin

This capital city of Texas is known for its busy music scene and active nightlife.

If you and your partner are into this, then nothing can beat the Austin experience. Other than that, Lady Bird Lake is also in Austin, so if you’re looking to have a quiet time, then be sure to check it out.

Austin is also home to the United States Grand Prix, so all you Formula 1 fans also have something to look forward to.

San Antonio

San Antonio is also known as the land of food trucks. This may make you think that San Antonio is a very busy city, but I can assure you it’s not. There are plenty of restaurants where you can go for a romantic dinner with your partner.

There’s also the Alamo Dome, the largest indoor hall in the state, where you can catch many amazing shows. If you’re planning to have a quiet time, then I would certainly suggest an evening all on the San Antonio River Walk

You may also like to check out the Botanical Gardens if that’s your scene. For our sports fanatics, you can also catch a Spurs game while you’re at it.

Houston

You all may have heard of Houston just because NASA’s Johnson Space Center is located there (which you can visit with permission). But Houston has much more to offer. In fact, a visit to Houston will cover most of your and your partner’s interests, if not all.

If you are looking to have a quiet romantic trip in Texas, then I certainly recommend the James Turrell Twilight Epiphany Skyspace. Houston also has a waterpark that you can check out and enjoy. For all the orchestra fans, you can catch the Houston Symphony live.

Houston has a lot of sporting events going on as well. I would certainly recommend you catch either a Rockets, Astros, or Texans game during the visit. The live sports experience is amazing here.

Dallas

Probably the most famous of all my recommendations, Dallas has a lot to offer on your next romantic getaway. For starters, Dallas has one of the most rooftop restaurants in the country where you can have a romantic evening with your partner.

Dallas is also famous for its line dancing as well. I would certainly recommend taking a lesson and trying it out with your significant other.

Just like Houston, Dallas is also home to some of the best sporting teams in the world. In fact, the Dallas Cowboys is known as America’s team, so you can see for yourself the impact it has on the country.

While I understand that it might not be everyone’s scene, I would strongly suggest catching either a Mavs or Cowboys game during your visit.

In The End

Going on trips with your partner is something that we all look forward to. It not only relaxes you both, but you also get to connect and make more memories with the most important person in your life.

While we all would love to go to fancy and expensive places as we all want the best of trips with our partners. Sometimes, that may not be on the cards.

However, there is beauty to be seen everywhere. The destinations listed in this article are an example of how many beautiful destinations for romantic getaways in Texas may be closer than we think.

While I wish that all of you are able to go on your dream trips, I certainly hope that this blog will guide you in choosing a destination for your next romantic trip.
